There are many disadvantages children that are homeschooled have. Being homeschooled the children do not get have the opportunity to interact with their peers and build relationships with them. Socialization and isolation is a major part in being homeschooled. Usually homeschooling consists of just there siblings or if they are an only child they are by them self. They do not get to interact with kids their own age, only if they go to church or play with their neighbors. The children do not have the opportunity to make new friends each and every day, they are limited to their friend groups. Cost is another disadvantage in homeschooling. The average homeschool family spends $900 each year. In a public school the schooling is free and the state pays for the kids to go to school and get an education. Being homeschooled you do not get the chance to face challenges with peers and learn how to overcome them to get ready for the real world. Homeschooling does not help you become a social person and interact with others. The kids are isolated and to theirselves, and not having the opportunity to enjoy spending time with friends at school. Homeschooled children miss out on a lot of activities, such as extra curricular activities and it makes them feel as if they are left out.
